Being dark skinned, Tecia was no comp for her younger sister Portia Montgomery who everyone else compared her too because she was light skinned, made Portia way prettier than she was. When Portia comes in and steals her one dream Tecia has had ever since she was a little girl, Tecia stops claiming Portia as her sister and was about to call it quits and switch schools after the fall semester until she meets Senior man Timothy 'TJay' Thomas, who was one of the big men's on campus. But one thing Tecia doesn't know that her mother never taught her is that, you can't lie down with a dawg and expect to not end up with flees.

Anthony stops at my bare shoulder and leans down to press a hot kiss onto the skin. "You can't say things like that.." He delivers another, this one to my collarbone and making my words grow weak, unconvincing ... even as they come from my own mouth. "We're supposed to be ... friends." Anthony is quiet at first, the only response I get being his free hand drifting over to cage my body into the small space between us. "I know .." He trails off. It goes dead silent for a second. "But I ... don't think that's enough for me, B." There's a sharp breath from me at the words and a flush of heat to my cheeks when Anthony pushes my hair over my shoulder. His actions expose me to him, showing off my bare shoulders in a way that's downright indecent as the straps pulled down now hang loosely off my arms. "I don't want .. to be just a friend to you." And then, there's another kiss to pair. Although it isn't a simple peck this time. It's an actual kiss now, slow and softly pressed onto my neck. Beatrix thought she'd never trust another guy again. After being burned, both physically and emotionally by her ex-boyfriend Rudy in her senior year of high school, Beatrix's trust in people is low. That is, until she transfers to the esteemed, private Highland University. It's a fresh start to give the girl what she wants most: A shot at normalcy. The plan is simple .. just keep her head down, study her ass off, try to become a functional person once again and hopefully make one friend or two. Everything was supposed to start over that year. She'd had high hopes of starting anew and faithfully prepared to blend in to the background. And the day goes well. Until she sits down in Spanish, where she meets Anthony Gamaro. After a slight misunderstanding, Beatrix finds herself in an odd friendship with the 20 year old football player. One that slowly helps her regain the confidence she'd long lost before.

Braxton University is located in a small, eery town that earned the name "Deathtown" because every year a freshman in college comes up missing or dies in their spring semester. Imani, Eugenie, Deasha, and Phoebe are as close as friends can be. Before they graduated high school they made a pact to always stay together and remain best friends. But after a secret and anonymous person referred to as "THEM" threatens to make their dirty little secrets come to light, they start to question everything. THEM forces the four girls to make tough decisions, throw each other under the bus and do the unthinkable in order to keep their secrets from coming to the light. ---------------------- "So you are really going to choose her over me?" Phoebe says with hurt laced in her voice and shown in her eyes. "WHAT THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO THINK?!" I shouted to the top of my lungs. The warehouse was amplifying our voices and making even the smallest sound loud. "It's your dam scrunchie left by the body! You killed her! Just admit!" "This has nothing to do with me!" Phoebe nodded her head with tears in her eyes. "I don't even have any secrets! I was just trying to protect your asses!" "Which makes you the perfect candidate for THEM, doesn't it?" Deasha made a fair point, looking at her with raised eyebrows. "You have nothing to lose, nothing to hide. THEM hasn't made you do anything, you are always there and you always know what the hell is going on. It sounds like you are the one who we should be cautious of!" Phoebe looked at me like I betrayed her. But I couldn't help to genuinely believe what Dee was saying. Even Eugenie seemed to believe it. She just didn't say it aloud, but her face told the story. The only person who hasn't been affected by this is Phoebe. -------------------- This story was inspired from the tv and book series "Pretty Little Liars." Sariah's first year at Clark University is supposed to be about new beginnings, independence, and finding her path. But as she steps into the unknown, she finds herself caught between the expectations of who she *should* be and the person she's beginning to uncover beneath the surface. Her journey of self-discovery takes an unexpected turn when she meets Mercedes, her eclectic, Afrocentric, crystal-loving roommate who introduces Sariah to a side of her culture she's never fully explored. Mercedes' unapologetic embrace of her black roots and spiritual practices forces Sariah to confront the parts of her identity she's kept hidden or ignored, opening her eyes to a deeper connection to her culture. At the same time, Sariah finds herself paired with Drew, a mysterious and artistic classmate, for a challenging art project. Initially, Drew seems like just another classmate-but as their collaboration deepens, Sariah begins to see him in a different light. With Drew, she finds herself questioning more than just her art; she begins to wonder if she's ready to open her heart and take a leap into something more than just a creative partnership. Sariah navigates the messy, beautiful, and transformative process of learning who she really is, embracing her culture, and discovering that sometimes, the path to self-awareness is more about the people we meet than the answers we seek. A tale of friendship, love, and self-empowerment, this coming-of-age story is a celebration of what it means to find your roots while forging your own identity.

Adrian x Belvina book. Adrian Parker has always been the rock-steady, reliable, the friend who would drop everything to help others, even when his own world was crumbling. Beneath the smiles and jokes, however, lies a man haunted by the weight of past betrayals. The impostors, the cheaters, the liars-Adrian has seen it all, and each heartbreak has left a scar deep enough to make him believe that love was nothing more than a fleeting illusion. Now, he wears a mask, and behind it, he's built walls so thick no one can penetrate. No room for love. No space for pain. Or so he thought. Then came Belvina Gallardo. Belvina has lived by one rule: trust no one. After being burned by betrayal, she swore off letting anyone get close enough to hurt her again. Her heart? Locked up tight, guarded by walls only her closest friends and family have managed to breach. But Adrian Parker is different. He's persistent. Relentless. And, somehow, she feels something stirring inside her-a dangerous temptation to let him in. Both Adrian and Belvina have been broken, their trust shattered by the ones they loved. In a world where casual hookups and burying yourself in work is easier than risking another heartache, neither of them expects anything to change. They've both sworn off love for good. But sometimes, the heart doesn't listen to reason. And the one person you swear you'll never let in may just be the one who can heal you. When trust is shattered, can two broken souls learn to love again? Or will they simply break each other in the process?
