In the magical land of Essentia, everyone has a soulmate. Whether the soulmates meet as children or on their deathbed, all soulmates meet one day. Having the same sempitermus, or the same permanent symbol from birth is how soulmates are discovered. This is the only tattoo that can never be changed by magic since it is determined by Fate. The sempitermus is both good and bad, while it shows people their true love, others can use the matching mark against them.
Princess Carina Regius knows first hand what it is like to fear others finding her soulmate’s sempitermus. Since all royals have a variation of the thronus symbol as their sempitermus, the Advorsari, an enemy kingdom, search for the other thronus sempitermus in Essentia and all other lands. But to the Advorsari’s ever-growing frustration, 18 years have passed without them finding the Princess’s soulmate.
Emerentius Praeli knows that he has the thronus sempitermus of this generation. Although it came with a price, the thronus sempitermus is thankfully hidden from everyone until he reaches 18 years old.
