| 𝟳𝘅 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗗 ·|| HUNGER GAMES x CINDER || ONC 2023 Honorable Mention Amidst the escalating unrest between the windborne utopian city of Lighthaven and its seedy, oppressed underbelly Fumedge, the Grand Duke of Lighthaven, Lucius Sextus, comes up with an ingenious solution. To provide much-wanted respite from the brewing conflict, and achieve the apparent-if-temporary unity, he organizes Gaslight Trials - a highly entertaining panem-et-circenses combat event in the Pits. The combatants may use all steam and thaumaturgy powered augmentations at their disposal, and there is only one rule: defeat, or be defeated. The reward for the last one standing? A chance to start their life anew. A brass key to the city of Lighthaven with a luxurious mansion to call their own within, as well as an aeroship to command. When eighteen-year-old Veda Igglesden steps forward to take her timeworn adoptive father's place in the fight, she might as well be signing her death-sentence. With her eyes fully set on the prize, act-first-think-later Veda must harness the power of technology to try and win for her Papa Otto. Decades of breathing in the toxic air of Fumedge did a number on the old inventor's lungs, and being able to live in the air-filtered Lighthaven would sure come in handy right about now. See Veda unravel the mysterious ploy behind the game's organization, and uncover the truth about her secret origins. In the vast sprawl of the cyberpunk city of Neo-Etheros, magic entwines itself with the latest technology. This kind of metropolis stirs beneath the surface, driven by some very ancient and mysterious power now awoken: The Obsidian Arc-an AI that had been dormant for so long, designed for the merging of arcane power and artificial intelligence, holding within itself the keys to gargantuan and world-altering power-but its awakening may unleash chaos across the city and beyond. A tragic past reluctantly draws former bounty hunter Zeph Voss into the hunt. Together, the brilliant mage Liora Thorne, with her own dark ambitions, and rogue technomancer Kaelis-a man riddled with failure-must navigate a city rife with corruption, dangerous syndicates, and hidden magical forces. As they unravel the mysteries of The Obsidian Arc, the three must confront the enigmatic Veiled Syndicate, who seeks to master the AI and establish their own dominion over Neo-Etheros. Betrayals from the past resurface, forcing Zeph, Liora, and Kaelis ever deeper into their own inner demons and the fragile trust residing between them. As the clock winds down, and the Syndicate closes in on them, they will need to decide whether to harness The Obsidian Arc for themselves or destroy it before any wrong hands get the chance to turn around and use it on them-before the very fabric of reality gets torn asunder by a meeting of magic and machine. In a world filled with both technology and the arcane, can they survive against the darkness binding them into The Obsidian Arc? Or will the unimaginable power it holds consume the city and everything they have fought for?

[Simulation + Dark + Non-Human + No Female Protagonist] Once an ordinary human, Oliver awakens in a dark world as the lowest and weakest monster: a goblin. Immediately, he falls victim to human adventurers and is ruthlessly killed. But death is not the end for him. With his demise, he activates the Life Simulation System, an ability that allows him to replay and manipulate his life's events, learning from each failure to make better decisions. Moreover, as a goblin, he receives the rare divine blessing bestowed only on his kind, offering him opportunities to evolve into powerful forms. Through constant trial and error, Oliver begins to reshape his destiny. Every simulation brings new knowledge, whether in strategic battles, devouring powerful creatures to absorb their strength, or evolving into advanced goblin types. From his humble beginnings, Oliver relentlessly ascends, using his cunning and the system to outsmart enemies and grow stronger with each iteration. As Oliver evolves into fearsome forms-first a Goblin Warrior, then higher-tier beings-his ambition becomes clear: to conquer the world that once sought to exterminate him. Along the way, once-invincible entities, such as the revered Sword Saintess, the Mother of Dragons, and even angelic deities who once looked down on goblins, find themselves bowing before him. With no female lead or conventional protagonist, this dark, non-human narrative explores Oliver's rise from obscurity and his quest to become a figure of ultimate power in a brutal, unforgiving world, defying all odds and expectations.

*Book One Of The Federation Series* Silvia Eastman was only five when her parents were murdered in front of her by a pack of infamous rogues. The emotional stress of the trauma caused her to shift into her wolf and she tore one of the rogues apart. But shifting at such a young age can be mentally, as well as physically dangerous. Premature shifting can cause a wolf to become feral, and unable to distinguish friend from foe. Most end up either a rogue or killed for safety purposes. Because of this, she had to undergo a bonding ceremony to keep her wolf in a dormant state until the day she finally meets her mate. Unfortunately, the bonding ceremony can have odd side effects at times. Though there didn't seem to be any side effects, there was one small problem. The trauma of seeing her parents die seems to have caused her to not only forget what happened on that particular day but also forget what she is. When Josephine returned to her home town after the death of her parents she was prepared to take a job at the local hospital. She wasn't prepared to run head first into her werewolf mate. She spent her entire childhood as the wolfless daughter of an Alpha who thought his own Luna was weak for not having a wolf. He sacrificed his pack and the legacy of his bloodline to ensure power for himself. Now, it's up to Josephine and her Alpha, August, to save their entire pack, but they aren't prepared for the war they just joined. "Mr. August Hayes was responsible for the cinnamon rolls and the smell of fall spices. If it wasn't his intense body language or the burning gaze staring into my soul giving it away, it would have been those electric blue eyes. The same ones that stole my sleep. I gulped. Why me? I squirmed uncomfortably in front of the panel as Dr. Grace led me to my chair. She was eyeballing me with a look that told me I had to pull it together. I sat down and quickly crossed my legs, trying to make myself smaller. Nurse Kasey was smirking at me, giving me a knowing look. Great, another one. I sighed through my mouth, careful not to inhale anymore of his scent. I had to get it together. I couldn't be the doctor from New York City who strolled into Little Compton hospital and made herself look like a complete idiot. I plastered on a smile."
