Everyday becomes an increasing struggle for her, and eventually, she decides to set a expiration date for everything that has ever hurt her. An expiration date for her life. Everything goes according to plan until she meets her new neighbors, Matt and Kate, who show her the side of life she's been neglecting. Lily is ultimately left with the decision to end her own life and risk ruining theirs, or continuing to live only to find her situation was worse than before.

Lily, a five year old child loses her parents in a horrible accident. Afterwords she is forced to live with her Grandmother who works all the time and has no time for a child. Lily, not knowing what really happened to her parents, and not understanding at all, she decides to take things into her own hands. At first she killed animals because she thought her parents were lonely where ever they were. After trying to kill her own Grandmother she was sent to The House, an insane asylum for kids. There she met seven other kids with situations similar to her own. Will Lily get better and go live with her family again or will she remain in a sense of denial enough that her sanity is in jeopardy? This story is told from Lily's point of view but it actually told by another girl with her little comments every now and again.
