Tormented Soul

Stumbling back from the pub on a bitter night, I shiver all alone in the darkness pondering over; how in such a short period of time the tables turned? The amber shades of the cast iron lamppost reflect my own hazel pupils that have seen the troubled world on more than one occasion. Suddenly I feel my foot give way in the cracks of the cobbled pavement and I stumble back on someone else's front porch. In my drunken slumber I feel it is wise to perch here until I sober up, after all I don't live to far from here. I pull
my duffel coat tighter against my frame and inhale a deep breath, tasting the sloe gin repeating on me. Reaching into my pocket I fumble for my cigar tin. I flicker the zippo lighter back and forth, the cigar embers and I inhale deeplying melting all my cob webs away...
