I walked into the lunch room of Baker's High and immediately saw my best friend Josh,
"Hey, what's up?" I asked.
Nothing much. What about you?" he asked again, he didn't look like he really cared...he seemed really interested in Christa, the most popular girl in school.
"Your sister would hate you if she saw you looking at Christa...She made middle school a living hell for her." He glared at me.
"Yeah, I know but you know exactly why." How could I forget? The only reason his sister Coral was made fun of...was because of me.
"Yeah, and she hasn't talked to me since." So what happened was, we were at a party, and I was dating Christa. It was her party so I invited Josh and Coral.
*Flashback starts*
"So Coral...its your turn to spin the bottle! babbles Christa.
" Umm okay..." she spun the bottle and it landed on me.

Even from far away, all I could see was you. "Who is who?" Derek asked, unfazed, sipping on the remainder of his protein shake from class. "Her." I didn't point to you, to avoid being too obvious, so I nodded my head in the most subtle way. "Laughing, smiling. Do you see her?" "The girl with the guy hanging off of her who's clearly her boyfriend? I think he plays on the varsity team. She's probably a cheerleader." I pretty much ignored everything he said. I didn't care. This year was supposed to be simple: survive the rest of high school, save up as much money as possible, move back to California and become roommates with Stacey. That was the plan, it was all set from the moment she landed in New York. But of course, the universe had to come and rearrange everything. * * * There I sat in the cabin of a small fly-bridge boat as Josh sailed us to who knows where.
