ma·ca·bre /məˈkäbrə/ Adjective Disturbing and horrifying because of involvement with or depiction of death and injury: "a macabre series of murders". Literally, montuno means 'comes from the mountain', but another possibility is that the word "Montuno" comes from the word "Montura" which is the Spanish word for "Saddle", because the rhythm in Son music is like riding a horse. Here it is usually a faster, brasher, semi-improvised instrumental section, sometimes with a repetitive vocal refrain. Maggie Le Rouge is your average stereotype of a rebellious teenager. She had just finished her eighth grade year of school. All she wanted to do every year was escape from the neglect of her invisible parents. Rich, powerful and always working, her parents could never see how broken she truly was. So what's her solution? Run away to summer camp. But the moment she steps onto the porch of the mess hall, she knows this will not be your ordinary week-and-a-half of summer fun. No, it will be much worse. But what do her old mid-school crushes have to do with any of this? Will she finally find hope? Why is the main event so horrifying? And why does the "Conductor" seem so suspicious? This is one camp that will change anyone who comes, for good and bad. Amazing cover by _Katsumi_Bara_! Thank you :)

Step one: graduate. Step two: accidentally sleep with your best friend. Step three: get trapped working summer camp together because your other best friend has no sense of boundaries. Now Enya and Maddie are sharing a cabin, pretending nothing happened, and doing a terrible job at it. It's hot. It's messy. It's gay. * * * The summer before college was supposed to be chill; sunburns, iced lattes, maybe a mild existential crisis. But when Skylar signs everyone up to be counselors at a middle school camp, Enya and Maddie find themselves trapped in a mosquito-infested nightmare... together. One small problem: They may or may not have ACCIDENTALLY hooked up after graduation. And Maddie is convinced Enya planned the whole thing. Between canoe races gone wrong, s'mores that end in arguments, and bunkhouse confessions they swore would never happen again, both girls are about to learn that feelings aren't something you can logic your way out of-or yell your way past. Because sometimes the person who drives you craziest... is the one who feels like home.
