What would you do if you woke up one day and couldn't remember anything? Not your name. Not your age. Not even where you lived. Nothing. Well, unless you counted recipes and a really intricate knowledge of colors. But nothing that would help you. 

          Would you panic, give up, or just wait for someone to come to your rescue? Or would you wait for a chance to help yourself, snatch it when it came and not let go?
          
          Ok, how about if you woke up to something even worse than that? Because losing your memory was just the beginning of it all. Today was the day everything changed. Forget trying to remember who you were before. It was going to take everything you had just to try and survive in a world gone mad. Your memories could come after everything else was taken care of.

My memories are gone. Civilization is wiped and the future is bleak. The zombies are here. But it's not all that bad. It's a little selfish to think like this, I know, but I can't seem to have it any other way. My name isn't a big deal. As for the memories, well, I've made better ones, with people I really care about, and who I really hope care about me, too. And how can you expect me to care about a civilization I don't even remember, or a future I've never imagined? Okay, now that was selfish. --- No matter how terrible things may seem, I always end up reminiscing. Nostalgic for the days when I lived so freely, when my only care was if I would come home alive. When I was swarmed by people who really, really cared about me. When the two of us were stuck to each other, inseparable, through hell and back. Zombies eat humans to survive, and humans kill zombies to survive. It's the natural order of the zombie apocalypse, but when a human girl named Savanna meets a zombie boy that isn't like any other she befriends him. He's confused and terrified of both kinds and is frustrated when he can't speak or understand the zombie's language. Why is this particular zombie different? Will he change like the others and kill the humans, or stay the way he is?

When a zombie apocalypse hits the world on its National Thanksgiving, in less than 24 hours, villages, cities, towns, entire countries are wiped out. Gone away into the dust, to never be seen. Nah, they all emerge as mindless angry creatures that would destroy anything in it's path to get a drop of your blood. Zombies. Not just the regular zombies you see in TV. Not the slowpokes, dumb, crazied flesh-eating monsters. No, these zombies can see, smell, run, climb, they can imitate and God help us they understand and not simply imitate. What happens when these zombies begin to gain intelligence? Every living thing evolves and if it doesn't; it's not worthy of being called 'living'. So when the remaining of humanity remains unmoving, stagnant but the zombies keep growing in mass, intelligence, strength; living. Living on the bare minimum, working your back, seeing loved ones day every single day, hearing screams of help from all around you but knowing how you couldn't do anything. This is a world where surviving wasn't... surviving. Living hurts. This is a world where even horror die-hard fans would rather not be in. For you to live, you have to be insane. And thankfully for one of our characters, they've gone insane.

Plucked from the industrial era, you are transported to the twenty first century. Oddly enough you have no memory of your past and unsure of the future. Then theirs your sanity, it feels as though you've been robbed of most of it. Yet the remnants of what was there, is all you can feel. Waking up in a small field, the area being unfamiliar. You have what you can remember are two entities in your head. One named Voice and the other called Angel. You can't help but to trust these two as your mind keeps slipping. Furthermore, your right arm is covered in bandages. Also you feel so much power within yourself. Was this from the Voice or the Angel? The Infection that helped bring the world to its knees also changed humans in ways to help them keep living in this now broken world ready to be rebuilt. This story isn't about how a hero will rise and bring the world back to what it was Pre-Fall. This story is about me, an ordinary Remanat living life through the world day to day as a mercenary.
