He hardly had cause to be surprised when the Empire came to seize control, it was a narrative which seemingly had no end for a refugee such as himself as he fled from town to town to seek shelter from its umbrage. And so they came to the town of Criaise and performed their duty methodically. The town was razed, his family slayed, and he could no longer feel.

What is a man to do when he has lost everything in a world which is so cold and unforgiving. A struggle of one man coming to terms with what has been, what could be, and the role of one refugee in the midst of a seemingly eternal struggle. A short story to find meaning once again.
