Clarice is a teenage girl with the hopes of graduating in a year time and join the army. Logan is a teenage boy, which by the looks of it, has some rough times as soon as he leaves school grounds. He is a street fighter, a secret not so secret in the small community they are in, except to her.
Clarice just happens to be the one that saved his sister's life and once they meet, they will have to rethink what they had as given to adjust with the help of one another to the new world they were both introduced to. The fights won't let them though because wherever there are fights, there is betting and cliques, so a price will have to be paid, even if not deserved.

He drops his hands that were just held high in victory and looks at me like he's seeing a ghost. The guard pulls harder on my arm and I go flying back into his chest. I do what he says and start walking towards the exit, but I look over my shoulder one last time before I'm too far in the crowd to see anything. She didn't reply and I felt her finger move across my skin, lower, and almost all the way down my lower back. A shiver coursed through my body, strangely pleasant, and I felt her finger stop. "Your tattoos are beautiful," she said softly. Too close. She was too close. My pulse was hammering and I could feel her cool breath against my skin when she spoke, and my body was warm from having felt her. I couldn't reply. My breathing was light and shaken. I wanted to just turn around and pull her against me, or rather put her against a wall, so I could kiss her and feel her more properly against me. If she touched me again, I wasn't sure that I could keep myself from doing just that. "I'm going to take a shower," I said suddenly in an attempt to escape. She didn't stop me, so I took that opportunity to walk away. When I reached the bathroom, I took a deep breath to steady myself as well as my pulse.
