And a young girl was left .
Alone.
In the majestic forests of Hyrule, she wept.
"Father!" A girl, wrapped in a silken purple dress, ran through an endless field. "Don't leave me! I can't do this alone, I'm to young!"
On the other side, a man -wearing red robes that seemed to flow like water around him- smiled. The smile was sad and soft. "Darling, he will help you. You will be okay, and you must find the Hero and the girl. She needs your help, Zelda. Find her, find Him, and do everything you can to help them. That's an order." Tears streamed down Zelda's face, blurring her vision, but she kept running. Slowly, her dead father faded away.

The legend of the hero, Link, the Goddess reborn, Zelda, and evil reincarnate, Ganon has been ingrained in the history of Hyrule from its very inception. Link, a young boy clad in green, is always destined to vanquish evil and save Hyrule, however, what if Link was betrayed by those he called allies? Before Hyrule prospered, before Skyloft was created, a hero lived in the land of Hylia, and though his deeds earned him legendary status amongst the peoples of Hylia, there were those who resented the hero. Framed for a crime he did not commit, the young man was cast in chains, forever to be locked away. That is, until the traitor's plot was uncovered. However, years had passed as the hero rotted away in a murky cellar. Could he truly forgive the people their sins? "Where did you come from?" Ilia asked and that's when everything stopped. Where did I come from? I tried to remember, I thought really hard but all I could say was, "I came from a place where no mortal should ever come from if they dare keep their head." The words tumbled from my mouth before I could stop them. I slapped a hand over my mouth, scared I would say more I didn't understand. Why would I say that? (Y/n) had awoke inside of a strange house, surrounded by strange kids. The only issue with that logic, she has no memory. Nothing to trigger why the young man Link and the group of children would be so kind to a stranger. It dawns on her that she needs to find out who she is again. However a darkness is brewing, and Link has a destiny to follow. The strings of fate tangle between the young duo, and (Y/n) makes a decision to help save Hyrule from the darkness. With nothing more than a brave face and an emerald pendant tying her back home, she sets out with Link. They also fall under the service of an imp itching for revenge. However, there is one person standing in the way of (Y/n) getting home. Her best friend, the Usurper King, Zant. He has made it his life goal to protect (Y/n) from himself and place a veil over her eyes to keep her from seeing his wrongs. Her wrath would for sure be the end of his evil plans. He woke, immediately pulling himself upward while his hands moved to his back, a reflex. There was nothing there, though. "Link. You must free me." The voice said again. Link turned his head, trying to find the source of the voice. "You will grow strong, and have the power needed for your task." The voice continued. "Please... help me." "Princess!" he yelled after her. "Where are you going?" "Back to the castle," she replied without stopping. "Not by yourself you're not!" Yours. There are monsters all over Hyrule now, Your Highness." Blue eyes pointedly looked her up and down. "And by the looks of it, you're not equipped to handle that." She mirrored his scrutiny and scoffed. "What, and you are?" She gestured to the cairns beyond the trees. "Are you going to protect me as well as you protected them?" Calamity is upon Hyrule. The Goddess Hylia appointed but two children to prevent the end of the world. The powers they were promised don't come easily, and after years of outright failure, Princess Zelda can't help but wonder if Hylia chose wrong. It certainly doesn't help that the boy fate has tangled her with makes her seethe. Devotion, heartbreak, inadequacy. Faith, perseverance, and courage. This is a story of finding what lies within.
