All Indigo Corrine wants is to tell someone. To have someone know. Her parents, her sister, her friends, the police—someone—anyone. She fears. She fears for her own safety, for the safety of her loved ones, even for the safety of the nervous girl that sneaks into her room three days a week. But in order to keep them safe, she must keep this a secret. No one can know what she is being forced to do. No one can know about the drugs, the alcohol, the needles, the pills. No one can know about anything.

Indigo MacLean and his younger sister, Journey, are living in a homeless shelter after their mum died from a drug overdose. At every shelter they've stayed at, Indigo has lied about his age, and his relationship to Journey since he's afraid that if anyone found out the truth, they would be placed in foster care, and separated. Beck Ryder owns and runs the shelter that Indigo and Journey are staying at, along with a successful photography business. Beck becomes suspicious of Indigo and Journey's truth after spending time around them.
