Reuniting with her father in Texas. She is forced into cutting her hair and changing her identity out of fear of meeting her step-father again. She eventually registers into Springfield high school. Where she is greeted by bullies, embarrassment, and first time crush, Alex. After befriending both Alex and Grace, she finally has the courage to tell them about the 'incident.' But is complicating thing by her confession of love by Grace. She is confused on wither she should go down her bisexual path, or try to be a girl for once. Overtime, Alex starts to really enjoy his time with "Sam" but is starting to become suspicious. He's become confused on his feeling for Sam. But once her true identity is 'leaked' to the whole school by mean girls. Sam is left with one idea that won't go away. She starts to become suicidal and plans to kill herself. meanwhile, Alex is overjoyed by the idea Sam's a girl. But once Grace finds out Sam is becoming suicidal she quickly contacts Alex for help. Meanwhile, Sam walks to the same park she loves to go to, overthinking her whole suicide plan. She starts to become overwhelm by mean texts and cyber bullying that is encouraging her death and suicide. Sam finds herself in tears and a knife.
