Now he must marry her by special license and then determine if she was party to this supposed accident or the innocent victim of whatever mischief his mistress was up to. After their marriage Devlyn travels with his new wife to Warrick Abbey then promptly leaves her to return to London without a word to Amanda when he would return. The girls parents named her Evangeline Martha Crawley. Evangeline was always by the piano with her grandmother Violet (Dowager Countess of Grantham), playing with her elder sisters and the family dog, or baking biscuits with Mrs. Patmore while singing a tune the Countess had taught her. It was then that she was known as: 'The Angel of the Abbey'. Little did the residents of Downton Abbey know that July 15th 1901, Evangeline's 5th birthday, would take a turn for the worst. Not only was it her birthday, it was the day of the summer festival that is held yearly at Downton Abbey. Many people came to celebrate and have a wonderful time with their families, playing games, and grabbing a rare opportunity to socialise with Lord and Lady Grantham, and the Dowager. However, a fire had broken out inside the building. Screams of panic could be heard over Lord Grantham ordering everyone to evacuate and immediately contact the fire brigade, but what the family didn't know was that Evangeline had gone missing. What happened to her? Where could she be? For many years, people have searched for her, only to come up with nothing.
