15 year old Maya Holloway and her 11 year old brother Jimmy are alone. Their mum died of a disease know as the Flare that occurred after the sun flares burnt the earth and turned it into a desert. When the two of them come across a group who say they have been subject to experiments by WICKED, the company Maya's dad works for, her and her brother tag along with them thinking they can find their dad and ask him about the disease that killed their mum.
