A new life among the stars

Space. The last frontier. Humans have been dreaming since the beginning of time what life is like up in the stars. Through many hardships they were finally able to send a spacecraft to the moon. That day was when their journey began. They had many successful missions into space, but there was still a limit to what they could do. Their ships weren't very fast and it took months to years to reach a plant. Along side with many other issues.
Mankind did everything they could to further explore the black realm. And one day, an answer came to them. Another race that came from the stars offered us the technology and knowledge we would need. But as life demands to gain something, something must be given up. The alien race wanted something in return for this and warned mankind of the risks. But mankind dismissed the warning and greedily accepted the offer. It is not widely known what was given in exchange, but many people wonder if the price was worth the risks.
