Misplaced trust and a series of mishaps is all it took to separate the king from his advisor. Now, Sinbad must flee to his kingdom, gather his generals, and return save his friend from the enemy that Ja'far fears the most: his past. That is, if Ja'far is still alive.
Meanwhile, the ex-assassin is subjected to the most brutal types of torture known to humanity. Struggling to keep his life and his sanity, one thing is clear to Ja'far: nothing will ever be the same. He had fooled himself, thinking that he was worthy enough to stand by the King of Sindria.
Along the way, Sinbad just might learn a thing or two about his tight-lipped companion.
