Genetic modification is Reya's living nightmare. "Sequencing," as they call it, was used to cure every disease passed on through genes. Alzheimer's, cancer, you name it, gone. Sequencing left the world with a race of genetically impeccable people, called the Perfect. They are given every luxury, a truth all too real for sixteen year old Reya. She's lived her life under the system of segregation, longing to see the other side of the river, where people can be more than store clerks. Someone will destroy the world as she knows it, and it just might be Reya herself.

Ever thought surviving first period-and facing her best friend's boyfriend, whom she recently kissed-would be the hardest part of her day. She was wrong. The world is ending. Literally. Between dodging awkward hallway interactions with her best friend's boyfriend and dodging the apocalypse, Ever discovers she may be the one person capable of saving mankind. No pressure, right? But just when she's barely wrapping her head around her destiny, a mysterious (and annoyingly handsome) stranger shows up. He drives her crazy, yet somehow feels...familiar. And he just might hold the key to unlocking Ever's forgotten past and to stopping the strange, earth-shattering events unraveling the future. As secrets unfold and loyalties are tested, Ever has to make a choice: walk away from the chaos and pretend the world isn't ending or embrace her destiny and risk everything to save it. After all, being a teenager is hard. Being the savior of humanity? That's a whole new level. *This is book one in a series
