When Katie finds out that her grandfather is dead she is devastated. To top it all off her abusive father walks out on Katie and her mother and sells the house when they are at the funeral in Texas.
Katie's grandmother tells her about her grandfather's favorite horse, Snip. Snip would only listen to him, and now that he's gone, Snip won't eat or behave. Katie feels that it is her job to help Snip become like he was.
But one night Katie finds a bunch of bills at her grandmother's house that she can't pay and now is in danger of loosing the farm and Snip.
Katie finds pictures in her grandfather's office of him and Snip in jumping contests and them winning 1st place.
Katie wants to take Snip out of retirement and train him, so they can enter the next horse jumping show to save the farm.
Will Katie be able to train Snip and will they bond as best friends forever to save the farm? Or will Snip continue to be stubborn and cost Katie the farm?

She also lost interest in riding horses, too until she meets the three most snobby, rich kids named Madison, Bonnie, and Lucy, who think they are better than everyone when it comes to riding horses, but Rose sure doesn't think she is. Rose thinks she can beat them, so Rose challenges her and tells her that she can beat her, so they make a deal, but the one think Rose didn't think of was that she stopped ridding because of her mom's accident and that means she has to get back on a horse. At first she doesn't think she can until a beautiful grayish white mustang comes to her dad's farm, who Rose names later as Stardust. Rose finally realizes that she can do this alone, she's going to need help from her father to help her get back on and also have help from the new cute boy, Austin who's helping for his community service. At first he doesn't want to be there, but eventually finds a reason to stay. Rose has had a good life up until the day of the accident, but now she's got to face loss, and heartbreak, but she's got to learn to get back in the race. This story holds romance, family, trust, understanding the past, and conquering your fears. *Read to find out more, I know it may sound boring from the description, but it's really not.
