I hate to say that this is the story of a cutter. However it is. For 14 year old Lillian, life is just beginning, but its like waking up on the wrong side of the bed. Dealing with the loss of her sister, things start bad then they just escalate. And don't even try opening your mouth because people just DON'T understand. Its too difficult to be heard. Especially when you're the outsider. The freak. The girl with the mental problems. Sometimes you just wanna give up. Just forget it all. Sometimes the taunting voices just become to much. Lillian lives her life in shadows, with only the comfort of sharp shiny metal pieces. Can some one save her before its too late?

Dear Olive, I hate you. I hate that you were born and that your human and have a face. "Who's there," I can't breath. I'm always looking over my shoulder ever since- I can't think about the now. I have to run but where, back to Jake? No I can't, everything is different now. He's supposed to be here to protect me, because if the got me... blood smears the pages of the passed. "Sapphire!" I hear him call. "Coal!" I reach out to touch him only for him to be yanked just out of my reach. I hear the wolves in the distance howling at the beautiful moon. I need his touch again. I need to know I'm safe. The only safe place anymore is pressed against him under the sheets. "Coal!" I call out again. ---I can hear her. She's here somewhere I know it. I can smell her sent threw the thick of the woods. "Sapphire!" I call out, but my call is lost in the night. I have to protect her. I have to save one, just one. Maybe that will be enough to clean the blood off my tainted skin. What if they get her? She'll... Change... I look up at the moon, could she not have heard my howls? Of course she did. She always did. I can hear the other wolves in the forest. Soon I too would be engulfed by the beast. Unable to control myself, unable to predict the beasts next move. Only she could tame the beast inside me. Why be afraid of the monster under the bed when you should be afraid of the one lying next to you under the sheets.--- I keep quiet in the deep dark night. Book 1 Lily There's this old saying that every story has a beginning, except I'm not really sure where mine began. My story doesn't consist of sunshine and rainbows. It's about heartbreak, trauma and abuse. But it's also about survival. I lost my mom when I was just five years old. And the Mahoney's made my life a living hell. I suffered years of abuse at their hands. So much so, I prayed everyday that they would hurry up and kill me. That was until Mason made me a promise. Then I prayed that he would keep it. Mason I would say I had good childhood. My parents were well off so naturally I attended the best schools around, always had the best of everything. My dad was the boss in his line of work. He was a debt collector, or so I thought until I turned 15 and realized exactly what kind of debt collector he was. I grew up in a million dollar neighborhood, in a million dollar home. But things aren't always as they appear. My neighbors, the Mahoney's seemed like a nice family on the outside. Truth was they weren't very nice people. I knew this because my dad had to handle some business with them once. So avoided them as much as possible. That was until they adopted Lily. She was like sunshine on a rainy day. I don't like the way he told me he needed to care for me. I felt like an obligation, a responsibility that he is carrying and carrying leads to getting tired and when people gets tired, they give up. I don't want them to give up on me. But they will, so it's good not to make them care for me in the first place. "I never needed anyone. I stopped needing anyone before, why start now?" I uttered the words again. Why? There is nothing to fight for. No mama. No papa. No sister to love me. No one.
