Aubrey Linnet Voss has a terrible life, and she absolutely hates it. Ever since her dad died a year ago, her mom has turned bipolar, but is mainly just mad and unreasonable.  She lives in a crappy house, with crappy things, but you know the worst part? They have a month to pay off the $5,000 dollars they owe to the bank or they get kicked out of their junky house. And since nobody wants to hire her mad-struck mom, Aubrey is forced to get a job at 13 years old. She wished she could just get away, move to a better house, with better parents, and a sister, like she always wanted. Haven't you ever felt like that? Have you ever just wanted to get away? Yea. That is how Aubrey feels, just every minute of every, single day. But then, one morning, after a long night of praying for better, something changes Aubrey's life forever. Although it makes her happy at first, will Aubrey still be able to handle it for the rest of her living days? Will she be able to change things back to the way they were? Or will Aubrey be stuck in this switched up, confusing world forever?
