❝Good morning, students of Kessel High! There's a new interactive program I'd like to encourage you to join called 'Project Smile'. In this program you'll be expected to perform a task that will - you guessed it - generate a smile or make the world a better place. This can be anything from cleaning up the park to helping your mother cook dinner, so use your smart brains and come up with something creative! In addition, Project Smile will be ESPECIALLY beneficial to those of you who's grades are struggling. There will be more information about that on the info slash rubric sheet found in the office, which will be available to you at the end of the day. Also, don't hesitate to run any further questions by Mrs. Welsh. She is the head facilitator for the program. And I think that's it, I hope to see all of you making smiles soon. Have a wonderful educational day!❞ ✽ When star pupil Spencer Eastwood’s math grade left her elbowing herself against the stream of students in the dismissal hectic (which she’d swore to herself she’d never do because people that did that got on her nerves), it was only the beginning of a whole new stream of equally unlikely, undeniably wonderful, heartbreaking experiences, that left her marveling over and over again.

"Why do you never smile?" "Because I'm not like you. I'm not important enough to be happy." ~ ~ ~ Gabriel Lancaster has never smiled. He has never grinned, never laughed. He goes through life as the world's biggest pessimistic optimist. If anyone else feels down, he does all that he can to cheer them up. But he's never once helped himself. This bothers Cassidy Evans. Gabriel has helped her out many times, and she's only been able to repay him once. All she wants is to see him happy. But she can never seem to break through his walls and get him to smile or be happy. Gabriel always wonders why Cassidy even cares. No one else does. But what he doesn't know is that Cassidy has a reason for what she does, and part of it involves her best friend's dead brother, Zach. One night, Cassidy devises a plan for Gabriel. One clicker, clicked only when thinking happy thoughts or doing something that makes him happy. Company, so he knows that he isn't walking this world alone. Cassidy's ultimate goal: prove to Gabriel that he is worth something in this world.
