Aria Sooyoung Sinclair was a romance author who went by the pen name, Violette Claire. She lost all of her inspiration after a bad breakup with her fiance of two years. Her publisher provided her with an offer that she couldn't refuse; pay back the $20,000 advance for her newest novel that was sure to bomb or go to South Korea and research an artist for him. Choosing the latter of the two, she arrived in Seoul and met Lightning, leader of the popular male idol group, Cosmic Strike.

Lightning was sick of people interviewing him. He wanted no part in this book but his manager insisted. Everyone wanted to paint a pretty picture of what K-pop was to help it spread faster, but Lightning wanted nothing to do with it. He wanted to spread the real horrors and break the false image that people had for the genre.

(Summary will become longer as the story progresses more. Also, I want to add that I am a K-pop fan and this story is, in no way, meant to offend anyone.)

His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He becomes enamored with her, feels like she was made for him while still battling the demons of his past and soon it all becomes too much for him to handle. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
