Terror-stricken and helpless, Gotham City is a modern-day, suburban super city that is infested with criminals, drugs and filth. On the verge of bankruptcy, and with very few residents that continue to stay in the city, Gotham seems to be at a low point. Emerging from the shadows is a vigilante, one dressed like a bat. The self-proclaimed "Batman" fights criminals and anything illegal dressed in a carbon fiber, Kevlar suit.   Now equipped with a trusty sidekick Robin, Batman seems to be becoming famous. Batman and Robin seem to be a symbol of hope for some, but just costumed freaks for others. Months after the first appearance of Batman, Shadow of the Bat details Batman and Robin's first real supervillain encounter ... and how they created him. A new crime boss arrives in Gotham, calling himself The Joker. A ruthless murderer, The Joker dons a purple suit and clown makeup. Gotham is now higher in crime and drug consumption than before the time of Batman. As The Joker recruits more people to join his side in a proclaimed "War on Gotham", Batman and Robin must fight through the criminal ranks, and use all the skills in their bodies to save Gotham for the first time . . . and definitely not the last.All Rights Reserved

No one sees Batman without a mask except Alfred. Batman is darker, already slightly twisted in the head - he's spent his whole life, fighting people like the Joker, people who don't deserve his pity. So he doesn't give then them any. He holds grudges even beyond the memory of others. He believes, soon, that he will be the boss, since he is the son of Bruce Wayne, however, because of his shorter size and his higher IQ, the other kids in his grade begin to tease him, and leave him questioning his place. Seeking to find where he belongs, after an argument with Bruce, Damian returns to the League of Assassins, to claim what's rightfully his, as the next Ra al Ghul. There, he must make a choice that'll define his future. Will he stay with the League, or return home to his father and family just in time for the holidays? Damian must choose his destiny... With all the Batfam included. Written in honor of my clearly anti-social sis's favorite DC fam and character and to all the Damian fans that feel he needs some written adoration.

The Bat and the Jester by roadkingrider

This is a realism-based story that takes place in modern 21st century Gotham City, a fictional city in an unnamed state along the eastern seaboard in what is assumed to be the United States. There are no meta-humans, or any other beings with any kind of super-powers, and all of the Bat's gizmos are based off of existing 2010 to 2020 technology. Bruce Wayne is a 27 year old man who struggles with being a CEO and a masked vigilante, Penguin is a typical, yet eccentric crime boss, Harleen Quinzel is having trouble dealing with what she was, compared to what the Joker turned her in to, and as for the Joker himself? He is, for lack of a better term: Bat-Shit crazy. This is my personal view of what might happen if a masked and armored vigilante began a crusade to clean up crime in a city the size of Boston or Manhattan. I tried to make the characters as real as possible, although I took a little poetic license and made the GCPD consider the Bat more of a nuisance rather than a wanted criminal, which while realistic would have created an entirely different story. His. way of doing things are considered too old school to be used. He's dangerous with his dual ivory handled revolvers, Sharpes Buffalo Hunter rifle and his limited edition Henry and Winchester lever action rifles. But he's even more deadly with his fists and feet. But as he cleans up the streets of Gotham his way, he gets the ire of one Dark Knight and Company. Well, maybe everyone of the Bat Family. Except one. Barbara Gordon. Whose been following the gunmans career with great interest. But Dick Grayson, Damian Wayne and Alfred are wondering if there's another reason why she's following his career. Finally one night he was hot on the trail of Rupert Thorne and had him cornered in a high class estate in the hills. The Dark Knight and The Gunslinging Lawdog have their first encounter. But the Batman brought along his long time protege, Batgirl. After a close call with The Dark Knight, the gunslinger runs after giving a good bone breaking kick to Batmas knee. But leaves behind some blood from the fight and a matchbook with his fingerprints all over it. And who should pick up the matchbook and swabbed the small droplet of blood than Batgirl at the behest of Batman. The only trick is he asked for the blood. Not the matchbook. Now there are a few questions that are bound come up, One. Will this new city anti-hero join the Bat Family or will he be on Batman's most wanted list? And Two. Will Barbara Gordon find the mysterious gunman and be able to tell him how she feels and will he reciprocate?

With the boys of the Justice League out, Diana Prince, also known as Wonder Woman, is prepared to go into battle and serve justice. Meanwhile, Dr. Harleen Quinzel formally known as the infamous Harley Quinn was declared sane a few months back and is now working alongside Batman as his new partner in crime Batwoman. As for Batman, he's been acting quite different this past year ever since he started dating and eventually marrying Dr. Harleen Quinzel. When the Killing Joke incident happened Bruce was of course feeling remorseful and great pain for the Gordon Family as it reminded him of his very own trauma, but he handled it very differently this time around and learned to use that raging pain to fuel him positively. All that is thanks to Harley who taught Bruce to love again and made him a better man in the process. But now a new incident is about to arise as their strength and morals will be greatly tested once again as the respected Bat Family. When the Joker causes chaos and gets caught as always he is then sent over to the Asylum where their worst nightmare will eventually manifest when the Joker gets loose and takes over the Madhouse by releasing all the infamous supervillains of Gotham. The duo will fight through their infamous rogues' gallery, Joker's Gang, and also against the ticking clock as they hope to unravel and stop Joker's horrifying plan for the city. Gotham City: the definition of crime. The mob, gangs, and organized crime had dominated the streets. The police are mere annoyances to the law breakers in the town, as they have not had Gotham in control for decades. That is until a hero arrives. Or rather, a vigilante. Bruce Wayne is a billionaire who has personally seen and lost so much of the crime in this city, having had his parents murdered in front of him as a child. Using his feat of bats as an inspiration, Bruce soon dawned the name of "Batman" and became the one thing to stop criminals I'm the city, bringing hope in fear. Now when someone is sneaking illegal equipment into Gotham, it's time for the Dark Knight to team up with Jason Todd, ,otherwise known as "Robin", to track and prevent the criminal mastermind planning the operation that could possibly be worse than all the criminals combined could do.
