She was sent in a mission.

To exterminate what is supposedly against the survival of humanity. If not capable of killing, bring them back to your base. Your 'home'.

But you failed twice.

You failed against your own kind.

It was obviously that there was a connection.

A rebellion.

Lots and lots of them. You found three people part of the clan rebelling against your kind's monarchy. You're in a legion devoted to find a way for the humans to keep surviving and to know the secrets of the predators.
