Silent Escape

Shinkan was a very ill child. She has had many sicknesses, and couldn't remember a time when she wasn't bedridden. Until she reached the age of 15, when most of her ailments and disorders disappeared, oddly, with no explanation.

But when she was born, she developed a terrible disease that rendered her mute and frail. Her mother, A Team Rocket scientist, had developed a 'cure' for her muteness. But it didn't work.

Instead it made her even more sick, with an awful fever that hospitalized her for several months. She eventually recovered, but figured out that her mother messed up the already screwed up elixir.

It turns out the cure was to only be used on Pokemon. It was a concoction that would connect with the Pokemon's brain and enhance their intelligence and communication with other pokemon and humans. She began to be able to communicate again, but in a different way; telepathy.

So the day she turned 16, she escaped from her home, and ran to the nearest town she could find. New Bark Town.

But word spreads quickly. And people are now looking for her; some who want her power, and some who want her dead. People found her unnatural, so she had to go into hiding, but that's kind of difficult when you're traveling with a loud and mischievous boy, and one who holds secrets of his own.
