A tale of two very modern vampires.

Carmen is--or was--a security consult by day and a thief by night until something went terribly wrong. Drake impulsively decides to save her life, although he gives her a choice between life and death, there's no time to explain exactly what the life he has to offer entails -- slowed aging, photosensitivity, and an inability to digest anything other than blood.

Oh, and someone is trying to kill him, but that's not nearly as annoying as those end of the week deadlines...
