It is the year 2059 and crime rates are high. Melanie LeStraut is a victim. This is the year she is captured. No one knows who her capturer is but when they found her, she is on the brink of death and starving. Trying to adapt to life in the outside world, Melanie still feels captured. Being the President's daughter doesn't help either. She loves her father but she feels that he loves his work more. Melanie's mother passed away when she was nine and her older brother is her only companion as well as the hose staff. Melanie doesn't want to be left alone with a bunch of tutors every day so when the opportunity to go to a real high school arises, she takes it. She has never been to high school and with all of her history, her father does not think she is ready for it. This is the time for Melanie to show he father and the world that she will not cower away and cry for the rest of her life but that she will become stronger. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right? Feeling alone, desperate for anything, and starving, this is a story of how and if she will ever move on.
Elliot Jensen and Elliot Fintry have a lot in common. They share the same name, the same house, the same school, oh and they hate each other but, as they will quickly learn, there is a fine line between love and hate.
