Saved by the Captain of the Royal Guard when she was a toddler, Kava only knew one thing: how to fight. She's been fighting her whole life whether it be unruly recruits, being best friends with the prince, or her elf lover who just came back from a family vacation.

Then if anything could get any better, her adoptive father declares her as his heir to his position as Captain of the Royal Guard and she starts training practically immediately. The Royal Court doesn't seem too impressed and decides to see if she's actually got potential.

Her mission is to find the pirates that burned down her village and killed her family before the annual Masquerade Ball. However, her long lost brother and the king might complicate things.

With this new information, will Kava be able to overcome her demons and figure herself out?

Pulled from the grasp of death and captured by the handsome crown prince, she can only pray he will never find out she is the enemy kingdom's princess. The fae prince, Elvin, is haunted by his mother's final words of a great war to come, of lies told, and a girl with redwood hair at the center of it all. When he saves a human that fits that description with rare light magic powers, he must decipher if she will be a friend or a foe. Is there something more to the lingering pull they feel towards each other? Will years of hate between humans and fae win out? How are their fates intertwined by the past? -----.------- "Do you know what you are asking?" Elvin's baritone voice vibrated down Aria's back. Elaine Rainier had a pretty clear picture of how she hoped her future would turn out. All she ever dreamed of was to live a perfectly normal life and work as her adopted father's assistant blacksmith. Simple and easy. All that changed the day her sister was kidnapped, an event that turned her life upside down and sent it on a completely different course, all in the blink of an eye. Now Elaine is forced to face the past she preferred to leave far behind as she searches for her sister with the help of the Captain of the Guard, Gunter, who she might have been harboring secret feelings for since they were kids. But the captain has secrets of his own, ones he's reluctant to share, and he may or may not accept Elaine's own secrets, ones she had hoped would never see the light of day. Together, they head for the king's mountain estate where they hope to find safety from the assassins who took Elaine's sister, assassins who might have been after a different target altogether. All the while, Elaine tries to deny the fact that her future dreams may never become reality. **If you like stories about elemental magic and dragon shifters, then you've come to the right place.
