After nearly three hundred years, the Industrial War is coming to an end. Avalon is a weakened state with no monarch, and victory is within the fairies' grasp.

Queen Gwendolynn of Tír na nÓg rests but one task: eliminating the heir to Avalon's throne. It should be easy. After all, his father died quickly.

However, a tiny and unlikely group of rebels stands up to protect the prince. They form a plot to end the war and kill the queen using an ancient relic. So with a good deal of skill, determination, and wishful thinking they set out to recover the Sword of Shades.
