"So, you don't have feelings for me?" I asked in disbelief.
"Sorry, no feelings here." She lit a cigarette and took a deep breath in.
"How could you do this to me, Sam?" I asked, beginning to cry. She took the cigarette out of her mouth and blew out. Smoke filled the room. She got up out of her chair and walked around her desk, towards me. She looked me right in the eyes and put her hand to my cheek.
"Aw, baby girl." She said, mocking me. "Don't cry. At least I gave you the time of day."

The rooftop scene played in slow motion in her eyes. Her boyfriend's hands wrapped around her best friend, their lips locked, their laughter echoing in the crisp morning air. Her heart didn't just break it turned to dust. The voices in her head chuckled darkly, whispering like shadows: "If you had chosen him... you wouldn't be in pain. He would never betray you. He has been watching, waiting... a red flag to the world, but to you... a green light." She staggered back, her breath trembling. "Who... who are you?" she whispered, pressing her hands to her ears. He leaned against his chair lazily, tattoos peeking from under his sleeve, but his eyes those sharp, storm colored eyes softened the moment they met hers. She quickly looked away, cheeks burning. At lunch, she found her seat empty. Her supposed best friend didn't sit beside her anymore. Her ex avoided her completely, as if she was the one at fault. She tried to eat, but her throat closed up. Then a tray slammed down across from her. "You're not eating," Raven muttered, sitting down uninvited. Her eyes widened. "Why are you-" "Because you look like hell," he cut in. I leaned back against the headboard, still feeling a little weak but definitely better than earlier. Mon entered the room, holding a bowl of champorado, its warm, sweet aroma filling the air. "Pinagluto talaga kita. You better eat this, or else, sasakalin kita." she said, sitting on the edge of the bed and handing me the bowl with a small smile. I couldn't help but chuckle, kahit nanghihina pa ako. "Thank you, chef Mon." She rolled her eyes playfully but stayed seated beside me. "Kain na. I made it with love, so you better appreciate it." I took a spoonful and hummed in approval. "Wow, this is so good! Pwede ka na magtayo ng sariling restaurant." "Ngayon mo pa sasabihin 'yan? When I finished, she leaned over to take the empty bowl from my hands but froze mid-movement. "What?" I asked, seeing her eyes fixate on my face. "May-uhm, chocolate sa gilid ng bibig mo." she said, not moving her gaze. "Ha? Where?" I asked, wiping at the wrong side of my mouth. She sighed in slight frustration. "Dito-" Before I could react further, Mon leaned closer, her face suddenly inches away from mine. My heart skipped a beat, unsure of what she was about to do. But instead of wiping it with her hand or telling me where it was, her lips brushed softly against the corner of my mouth as she gently took the chocolate stain away. I froze, my breath catching as her warmth lingered on my skin for a second longer than necessary. When she pulled back, her cheeks were flushed, but she didn't break eye contact. "There," she said softly, almost in a whisper. I didn't know what to say. My heart was racing, my mind blank. It felt like the world had stopped in that moment, and all I could focus on was her-the softness in her eyes, the pink tint on her cheeks, and the way her lips had just touched mine, even if only briefly.Complete

"Are you... lost?" Someone asked, her tone impatient. I stopped scanning the room to find the woman behind the voice. I blinked. She had the most luminous blue eyes I had ever seen. Even in the dim glow of the bar they glowed brightly, like her pupils were some type of smooth stone at the bottom of a clear blue ocean. My hands were used to weekly manicures not hard labor. But desperate times call for desperate measures. The blonde appeared thoughtful again. Those magnificent eyes gave me a once over, slow and steady. You could see the cogs turning in her head as she considered it. I decided to try and sound more convincing. "I have many skills," I added. Okay, so I stole that from Xena, but I was hoping it worked as well for me as it did for her.
