"So, you don't have feelings for me?" I asked in disbelief.
"Sorry, no feelings here." She lit a cigarette and took a deep breath in.
"How could you do this to me, Sam?" I asked, beginning to cry. She took the cigarette out of her mouth and blew out. Smoke filled the room. She got up out of her chair and walked around her desk, towards me. She looked me right in the eyes and put her hand to my cheek.
"Aw, baby girl." She said, mocking me. "Don't cry. At least I gave you the time of day."

"Are you... lost?" Someone asked, her tone impatient. I stopped scanning the room to find the woman behind the voice. I blinked. She had the most luminous blue eyes I had ever seen. Even in the dim glow of the bar they glowed brightly, like her pupils were some type of smooth stone at the bottom of a clear blue ocean. Within her blue there flickered tiny speckles of silver, which gave her an icy, somewhat stony appeal. But it was her slight, lopsided smile that erased any signs of wanting to be alone. No wonder this bar was so popular. "Uh, no," I said, holding up the Help Wanted sign I had snagged from the front window. The woman's cool eyes flickered between the sign and me. She didn't say anything, only looked slightly thoughtful as slender fingers raked through her long blonde hair. "What can you do?" She finally asked, definitely not expecting me to be able to do much of anything at all. She'd be right. "Anything and everything," I answered-lied-instantly, hoping I didn't look too desperate, didn't sound too eager. To be perfectly honest, I hadn't worked a day in my life. My hands were used to weekly manicures not hard labor. But desperate times call for desperate measures. The blonde appeared thoughtful again. Those magnificent eyes gave me a once over, slow and steady. You could see the cogs turning in her head as she considered it. I decided to try and sound more convincing. "I have many skills," I added. Okay, so I stole that from Xena, but I was hoping it worked as well for me as it did for her. The blonde lifted a sculpted brow and the smile was, once again, back on her lips. She seemed amused. Maybe she was a Xena fan? "Alright... I'll start you off cleaning the bathrooms, sweeping the floors, doing the dishes..." Crap.

The rooftop scene played in slow motion in her eyes. Her boyfriend's hands wrapped around her best friend, their lips locked, their laughter echoing in the crisp morning air. Her heart didn't just break it turned to dust. The voices in her head chuckled darkly, whispering like shadows: "If you had chosen him... you wouldn't be in pain. He would never betray you. He has been watching, waiting... a red flag to the world, but to you... a green light." She staggered back, her breath trembling. "Who... who are you?" she whispered, pressing her hands to her ears. "We are your choices. Your paths. And the gangster who scares everyone? He would rather die than see you cry." The voices faded, but their words rooted in her chest. The next day in class, she could barely focus. Everyone knew her as the quiet girl who never caused trouble, but now her world tilted sideways. When she glanced at the back corner, she caught him staring Raven, the school's infamous gangster. He leaned against his chair lazily, tattoos peeking from under his sleeve, but his eyes those sharp, storm colored eyes softened the moment they met hers. She quickly looked away, cheeks burning. At lunch, she found her seat empty. Her supposed best friend didn't sit beside her anymore. Her ex avoided her completely, as if she was the one at fault. She tried to eat, but her throat closed up. Then a tray slammed down across from her. "You're not eating," Raven muttered, sitting down uninvited. Her eyes widened. "Why are you-" "Because you look like hell," he cut in. "And because I told myself if I ever see you cry over someone who isn't me, I'll make them regret it." Her stomach knotted. Was he joking? Threatening? Or... protecting? Before she could answer, the voices whispered again-only she could hear them: "See? He burns for you. Dangerous to others, safe for you. Don't push him away..."

"do you want to know what I'm about to do to you right now? i'm going to fuck you until these sheets are soaked in your tears and cum," her breath hitched as he kissed up the middle of her chest and neck. "i'm going to spell 'mine' with my dick inside you," amira whined, squirming her legs around his torso, feeling him rub against her slit. "i'm going to spell it with my tongue inside you, with my lips all over this mind-fuck body. i want you; amira decker, to know that you are going to be mine. whether you continue to fight it or not," he reached her ear, kissing her warm skin. "you are my future. you are the fucking mother of my future kids, you're the reason my dick wakes up in the morning. it's because i'm always thinking of you and sometimes i just can't help it," he kissed down her neck. "mine," he reached her breasts, using his tongue to spell the word with painfully slow licks. the teasing alone made her soak the bed more. "mine," he kissed down her heavy-breathing belly. spreading her legs apart, he used his thumbs to unfurl her lower lips. "mine," he said lastly, drawing a coat of saliva from his mouth and onto her pussy. amira gasped breathlessly as she felt the wetness melt between her clit. grabbing her thighs, his cold chain bracelets made her flinch. he ducked between her legs, the chain around his neck sliding across her slit making her twitch. "i want to destroy you tonight, cherish you later. but I'm still hungry, so first, i'm going to eat again," he muttered and dove straight into her sensitive spot, knowing exactly where it was like the first. his tongue slid, sucked, flicked, licked, and kissed creatively over and over her sensitive spasming clit. one lick and her entire body shook as she gasped in bliss pleasure. she cried, nearly tearing up the sheets above her head. ©𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟐𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐢𝐞𝐱𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬

The elevator opened probably at my stop and closed again. I could feel her smirking against my cheek, "Wait, did you not tell your friends how you begged me to fuck you?" she asked, chuckling a bit. "No," I said way too fast. "Wait, I meant I didn't say anything because nothing happened, we're going to forget about it," I said, forcing my eyes open and pushing the warmth away. "And if I don't want to forget it?" she asked, moving down to my ear. I gasped as she kissed right below it. "You have to. We..." I trailed off, my head falling back against the wall on its own, "We can't." "Why can't we?" she asked. "We want the same things, whether you're willing to admit it or not," she whispered, then kissing the spot again. "There is nothing to admit. I got over you," I said, repeating what I said last night, even as my body said something completely different. She let me go, stepping back. "Look me in the eye and tell me you're not turned on," she said, looking at me dead in the eyes. We both know I was, but I was definitely not going to say it. "I'm not," I sighed, trying and failing to sound convincing. "You're excuse for last night is that you were drunk. What's your excuse this time?" she asked, that annoying smirk coming back. ---------------------- Emryn and Avani have been best friends since they were kids. *Completed* T.W. This short story is based around the loss of a friend, and coping with that loss with therapy. ~~~ I placed the letter back down onto the small coffee table, wiping away the tears that rested in the corner of my eyes. "How do you feel, Samuel?" the doctor asked, hovering her pen over a piece of paper. "I feel the same way I did the last time you made me read that letter" I responded back, a slight bitterness in my voice. "And how did you feel?" "Lost. Lonely. Hurt. Betrayed." I listed, watching as she wrote it all down, listening as the pen scratched against the paper roughly. "Anything else?" She pressed on, staring down on me like an ant. "I lost my best friend. How do you think I fucking feel?" The tone of my voice made her flinch slightly, but she quickly regained her professionalism. "Samuel, I need you to calm down. Shouting at me isn't going to do you any good". She pushed her glasses further up her face as she scribbled more onto the page. "Shouting?" I scoffed, "I wasn't shouting, and I have the right to be angry at someone who's forcing me to re-read my dead best friends suicide note everytime I'm forced to see them". ~~~ [started 26/03/2021]
