She lives at home in a run down house with her mother and her father. Her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago and they are now living on government support. Her father is abusive and works as a garbage man. Aside getting teased at school, things take a turn for the worse when her father turns to drugs. As she approaches her sixteenth birthday she longs more and more of a better life.  So she vows to make a better life for herself and her mother.
