Five years earlier, Avery Hall was your average, semi-popular teenager at the age of thirteen, not even in high school yet. She was happy-go-lucky, full of spirit and pure potential. But that all ended when something disturbing, traumatic and life ending happened.
After the brutal murder of her parents and her younger sister, her eighteen-year-old sister begins the long journey of taking care of a thirteen-year-old girl with trust issues.
Having made a "fresh new start" for the fifth time, and now a senior, she finally makes it to Brighton, where she is still broken, alone and as hesitant as ever.
But what happens when the mysterious, handsome dark-haired bad boy, Jason Thorn, crashes into her life and slowly brings her out of her shell.
Will he be able to relate with her, comfort her and help her? Or will he push her away? Will their love and familiarity be enough to salvage a love like this?
Or will it be there downfall?
