He killed her, that was supposed to make him feel happy and proud. For someone who wants to achieve something and impress the people who throw him away like trash- it was a sign of pride. But it didn't end up that way. It looks more like he made a wrong decision once again. Especially, when he realized that his heart was aching for "her".
The fact that it was too late was hurting....
He should have held out his hand that time and reached for her. She would've been alive and breathing beside him. But no, what's done is done.
Even if he wished on countless shooting stars, someone who's dead will never rise again.

I clutched the gun to my chest. The blood on my hands, outfit and hair knotted with it. The body stared up at her, mocking her. I finished the job. But why did I feel so empty. The assignment was to kill the target, not everyone that I did. But they always said whatever it takes to get the job done. I killed people for a living. I was good at what I did... I enjoyed what I did. Memories were filling my mind too quickly to stop them so I just let them run their course. *** His weight disappeared from me and his hand grabbed the front of my leather jacket and yanked me to my feet. One of his hands were wrapped around me throat while the other was flicking a switch blade back and forth. I stared at it, flicking in and out addicted to the trance. I looked up as his voice interrupted me. "What am I going to with you Liza?" "I don't know brother. Why don't you tell me?" "Hmm," his fingers brushed my face. He was vulnerable; I stepped on his feet and watched as he yelped in pain. I reached for the gun on the mantle behind me. I cocked the gun, the safety clicked off. "Liza?" His voice was weak and frightened. "Please." He was always a good actor. His eyes were betraying his words. They were dark with vengeance and fury. His body lunged towards me. I pulled the trigger, hearing a noise echo in my ears. I dropped the gun on the ground. My feet slowly dragged my body over to Liam's body. A Forgotten Past
Memories no longer existing for they have been taken from her no memory whatsoever of the guy she once loved. He took away the one feeling she really enjoyed coming from him she doesn't even know what happened to her. No trace of evidence. She was left alone quite recently when he had disappeared with the last words that slowly dissipate, "I love you." She was living happily but everyone around her grew ever so curious as to why she was cheerful after all he forgot about how the others knew who he was. This doesn't change things for her the only way it would have to change is if he came back from what he pronounced about not going back but having to die for a cause. He regrets these decisions. He has to live with a burden knowing that he didn't die due to someone saving him but who? She remembers nothing but her own happiness doesn't even know what happened to her.
