[COMING SOON] "NOAH BECKS RELEASED ON PAROLE WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE," read the front-line title of the newspaper article, my eyes skimming over the next few paragraphs that followed. I knew that it was strategically placed in the very back near the bottom of the page in the newspaper; nobody wanted the public to know he had been released after supposedly murdering his wife ten years before. It was a sordid story nobody liked to talk about; it all brought anger to our hearts that such a wonderful woman's life was taken far too soon. The article wouldn't have been so intriguing if it wasn't for the fact that the name of the very boy stirred something deep inside me. From nights spent having sleepovers, to the days spent running into the rain on our way to school together, to indulging in our sex lives as teenagers, we were best friends, that was, until we graduated and went our separate ways.
