I shake myself off and slowly comb my hand through the tangled mess I call my hair. Looking over my nightstand, I spot the piece of rubber that encase my 'old-fashioned' phone.Hey, don't judge. As long as it works, right? I take my phone out of it's current position, insert my earbuds onto my ear, then scroll through my music playlist. Sixx A.M.'s "Life is Beautiful" stares back at me and I smile at the irony for my first song choice of the day.

"Life IS beautiful." I remind myself as I grab my keys, walk through the apartments' narrow hallway, then walk out to the outside world.
