Valerie Rain is an adopted fifteen year old with an abusive step father and a messed up school life. Her only salvation are the wolves she watches and reads about, longing to hear the spine-tingling howl of the creature that was hunted to extinction in her country, England, many centuries before her time. Then, comes the leaflet... it promises a new life, an amazing one. For nothing, she can lose her human self in the body of a wolf, an incredible worldwide scientific feat.
Accepting this challenge, Valerie joins the Mind Pack - a pack of seven other humans who also took the plunge to become wolves. And as time goes by, Valerie finds herself falling slowly in love with the mysterious Dusk... but somebody is out there. Somebody who hates the Mind Pack to the core. Somebody who knows just how to master the science of the Mind Pack, too...
