People are now forced to wear a quantum membrane placed directly on the brain to care for it, the topcortex. This membrane allows government to exploit them and reduce them to their work, treated as nothing more than a set of arms. Dax is in charge of the configuration of the topcortex. The army produces the implants which are its main source of income. Dax is very brave and selfless. She tries to reduce the award procedure to people to free them.
