Alexandra, or as her friends call her Alexa has a perfect life. She has the sweetest boyfriend. The best friends anyone could ask for. The greatest rich parents. She has it all until her fathers company is to be moved from her home state of New York to California. When they arrive to their new house in Cali, they hear the neighbors outside arguing with their son Ryder. He notices Alexa and his world stops. He stares at her intensely, while ignoring his parents scolding him. Upon coming back to reality he takes off leaving his parents to get angrier and Alexa to wonder more about this new mysterious neighbor. Alexa soon discovers that getting close to Ryder means being in danger at all times. Will she fall for him, or run like everyone else.

Meet Violet Summers. She's the sarcastic girl who doesn't really ever get noticed by anyone. She blends into any crowd because of how "normal" she is. And she loves it. So she's kept her feelings a secret, and she's done her best to suppress her emotions these past years, but she's realized that she's been so caught up in making people not notice her that she didn't realize how lonely she would be when no one was watching. Now meet Ryder Knight. School bad boy. Quarterback captain and heartthrob. The kind that wears a leather jacket and has tattoos all over his arms. The one who shows up to school riding a motorcycle. Just your average run of the mill "if you get involved with this guy, you will meet some serious trouble" kind of male. Well, too bad for Violet, she's stuck with him now. After all of the years of pushing away her feelings for Ryan because of her fear of being seen, she is now all anyone can look at- because of Ryder. Because of him, she can feel their stares, and she hates him for it. The longer they spend time together, the more Ryder starts to realize he actually enjoys being around her-despite her snarky comments about how much she despises him. And if Violet is being completely honest with herself, she's also starting to realize she might not actually hate the fact that people are noticing her now, but hate the way Ryder makes her feel.
