Messses are Exorcists who can't see demons or demon spirits during a certain time-span of day; and they can't demon summon.  However, Messses are rare among the Exorcist population but they do have the power to take down even the strongest of demons.
Anika Takano is one such Messs, for she can't see demons or demon spirits in the morning.  She lives with her uncle Daisuke ever since she lost her parents to a SSS rank demon when she was a year old.  At the age of 16, her uncle enrolled her in Seikyoku Academy, a school to train Exorcists to become Elite Exorcists in order to defeat ranked demons.  For each school year, the students are to  be put into a team of 3 for the rest of the school year.  As fate would have it, Anika got teamed up with Sayuri and Masahiro Hasegawa.  Is there a reason why she got teamed up with the Hasegawa siblings out of all people?
