When I was a small child my mother read a story to me about some kittens who hated having their ears washed. I have never been able to trace this story or find a copy despite the power of the Internet. So I decided to re-invent the story into a poem. It is the tale of how we might find ourselves dreading something that is inevitable - but how our lives are much improved after we do it...
