Suddenly, another body slammed into her, sending her things careening across the floor. And her phone― her precious phone― was falling, slipping out of her grasp and cracking on the concrete floor. One particularly heavy textbook managed to land directly on her foot, and she flinched in pain.

"What the fuck!" she snapped, her gaze immediately locking onto her assailant.

Dark (perfect) brown eyes glared right back at her, and she scowled deeply when she recognized the person standing before her.

"What the hell?" Theodore scoffed at her tone. "You're the one that ran into me."

Katya rolled her eyes, irritation coating every nerve of her being. "Well then you should have fucking moved."

His eyes widened in disbelief while stepping back so she could bend down to pick up her things. With her heart in her throat, she picked up her phone carefully, only to see that the screen was shattered.

"Jesus, it was just an accident."

Katya growled up at him, inexplicably irritated that he didn't even bother to help her with her things. Irritated that he was responsible for her damaged phone. "Yeah well, next time it would great if you didn't stand in the middle of the hall like a dipshit."

His eyebrows flew into his hairline, before furrowing together in anger. At his annoyance, everything about him seemed to tense and stiffen. "Well maybe you should watch where you're fucking going next time, Katie."

Her teeth gritted together. "It's Katya."

He thinks she's stuck up. She thinks he's a hypocrite.

When the cheerleaders of Alderidge High are forced to become "guardian angels" for the football team, head cheerleader Katya Richards, and star quarterback Theodore Rodgers don't exactly get along.

Too bad she's supposed to be his good luck charm.

"I... Am here to see you.", I told him as I placed my hands around his neck. I could feel my heart beat getting faster but I had to keep it strong if I had to survive this scenario. "What?", Brandon asked completely startled. I leaned in more closer to him. The only good thing in this entire scene was that he wasn't pushing me back due to my creepy behaviour. "Oh... Bran, I was missing you so much, I just... I needed to see you.", I said as I came up with lie. "Are you drunk?", Brandon asked as he leaned in closer trying to smell my mouth. Thank God Fel had given me her mint gum only moments before I went commando and came inside the locker room. "What?", I scoffed still standing extremely close to Brandon. "I just.... I was missing your gorgeous face.", I told another lie. But wait? His face is gorgeous so that isn't a lie. And was I not missing seeing him? I noticed Brandon who just had his eyes popped out of his socket with bewilderment at my words. I decided to peck him on the cheek before I storm out of the locker room. I leaned ahead to peck Brandon who moved his face in my direction and instead of his cheeks, our lips crashed. Brushing against each other, our lips touched. I could feel fireworks exploding inside my entire body. With my neurological system not responding anymore. ******* Depicting the hostility and vulnerability of a young woman to a society the story centers around a normal sophomore, Amy Cole, who had a normal life. "Are you sure you're okay, sweetie?" she asks. I take the ice pack back. I nod, but it hurts. My brain feels jostled by the littlest movements. "Yeah," I gasp, holding in any acknowledgment of pain. "I'm fine. Thanks." She glances down, and I catch her eyeing my bruised shins. They took the brunt of the impact. "Football," I explain. She nods. "That's a rough sport," she says. A pause. She walks back to her desk. Then, she stops. She turns around. She looks me in the eyes. Her face is solemn. "Hit 'em harder," she instructs. I nod and almost smile. "I will." *********************************************** It's 1998, and seventeen-year-old Stephanie "Stevie" Rogers is attempting the unthinkable: she wants to be the first female football player at Truman High. Too bad the team, headed by her ex and a sexist coach, won't let it happen. Then of course there's her sexist step-dad, who can't know she's playing football or her life as she knows it would end. If it weren't for her cute guitar-playing best friend, Calvin, all hope might be lost. But with his help, and the discovery of a secret so scandalous it could rock the entire school, she may finally get her time under the stadium lights. *************************************************************************** "You're outnumbered. You need allies if you're gonna survive the season. These guys are gonna have your back. You need them." "I don't need anyone," I insist. "Ha," he hiccups. "Yes, actually, you do." He ploinks me on the nose. I scowl. "No one is invincible." I continue to scowl. He sighs. "Just trust me on this one. Okay?" My face softens a little. He's just trying to help. "Fine," I comply. "But don't expect me to smile about it." He grins. "That's too bad. You're pretty when you smile." "Shut up."
