Lucia Day hated stereotypes.
People who looked at her would immediately believe she was a dimwitted blonde who comes from a high paying family and had dreams of marrying a hot, rich guy and live the luxury life. But that wasn't her at all...well only one part was true. Lucia was rich but she didn't let her parents' income define her. She wasn't a dumb blonde and she never had dreams of marrying a rich douchebag. With assumptions about her life and wealth skyrocketing, she had enough. The only way she could break through that cliché was to show everyone who she really was by auditioning in the town's roller derby team. Lucia never expected that doing so would cause old friendships to end, derby players’ hatred towards her wealthy lifestyle to rise, and a hockey player’s consistent teasing and taunts awaken something within her. Everyone thought Barbies can't skate but this Barbie can and she sure as hell is motivated to leave everyone eat her dust.

‘These bruises? They’re my badges of being a bad ass.’
‘Bad ass? No, sweetie, you have a great ass.’
