Alyss was said to be dead.
At least, that's what a report from the Ranger at Anselm Fief had said. She has gone into hiding as Catherine Altright for the past few weeks in Anselm itself until she earns enough money to travel to Redmont.
All seemed well when she met Will again and he ends up falling in love with her secret identity. At first, it seemed like they were going to have a happy relationship.

Until someone decided to take Alyss away from Will.

Now Will has to save her, Halt has to keep his mouth shut about Catherine being Will's supposedly late wife and Alyss has to postpone the fact that she has to die by the same thing that was supposed to take her.
Fire.

Will Halt and Will be able to save Alyss in time? Will Halt be able to keep his mouth shut until Alyss tells Will? These questions will be answered as you read.

Warning: If you have not read the Ranger's Apprentice series, that means ALL twelve books, then do not read. The prologue begins with a spoiler.

Enjoy!

Do We Let Them Stand Alone? by JenikaFoust
40 parts Ongoing Mature
Galadriel has seen more war in five years than most would experience in a lifetime. She and her brother, Finrod, commanded the Great War's most elite death squad: the Loriens. Together they completed untold thousands of missions, destroying some of the Enemy's most valuable strongholds and weapons. In the last crucial battle of the War, Finrod was killed by Sauron, an Enemy lieutenant of reputed cruelty on and off the battlefield. Morgoth was killed in the same battle, and the Loriens were sent home. Galadriel and her commandos were expected to re-assimilate with the civilian population. Galadriel has struggled to adapt for months; but with her brother gone and so many of the Enemy soldiers, including Sauron, at large, how can she put down the weapons that have kept her safe for so long? Halbrand finally makes his way north to take refuge in the great city of Lindon, where a chance encounter with a half-elf lord puts him directly into the path of Galadriel. He's done fighting. It's time to atone for his misdeeds. If his identity is exposed, can he make the person who matters most to him understand? The two journey to the Southlands, where an orc father is pursuing a secret of his own. What is Adar hunting? That's a lot of very dramatic questions for a single description. All that cinematic fluff aside, I hope you'll take a look at my original fiction piece, as it has cost me many brain cells and many hours of sleep. #2 in haladriel trying to get in the top 100 of the lordoftherings tag but I keep topping out really close to 100...one day...

Hi. So these are a bunch of short stories about various Ranger's Apprentice characters. I'm going to try to stay as much to the storyline as I could, I'm not going to pretend that Alyss had a child and whatnot. Please feel free to comment suggestions for stories, or say what you liked, you know. Okay, enjoy! All the characters are John Flanagan's!
