An unknown threat seeks to eliminate all life on earth, while seeking to take over the position of the Gods and rulers of this world.
They send the Immortal God of Death, The Grim Reaper Enma, to take care of the threat. Along with Reaper Raion from a realm far away, and the Angel Michael, they travel to earth under the disguise of high school students to investigate the source of the threat.
Along the way new and gifted people are met, and Enma finds someone to makes him realise that life is more precious than death.

"I love you," Jack smiled. They looked at each other for what felt like a decade. "...No. No you don't." Willow rolled her eyes. "It seemed like the part of our fight where I should say it," he smirked, only making her anger rise. "Why are you doing this?" His expression faltered for a second as he heard the fear in her voice. "Treating me like this? Do you hate me or something? Or do you just not care if I live or die?" His eyes widened briefly before he shook his head. "I don't hate you, or want you to die. But I can't like you either. Humans live a short life, I live forever." He paused, taking a breath. "I can't let myself get attached to someone that will just die on me, or put you in danger," Jack sighed, scratching his neck. Something in his voice made Willow believe this wasn't his words, but rather, words he had been told. They are the ones to lead and protect souls on their journey between worlds. They were the first grim reaper and Deaths first child. They have been by his side since Eve was tempted by the snake and has shown nothing but loyalty to her father. They don't have a true name but is lovingly known as Hope by the angel and the demon of who they have always seemed to cross paths with. Why? This is a story about the Grim Reaper and the souls he delivers. The Grim Reaper delivers souls from earth to what most comprehend as the 'afterlife'. When there is the occasional resistance from unwilling souls, he'll retrieve an old memory or feeling of theirs and let them experience it again.
