Every summer, Avery Wilson gets dragged to Alaska with her parents for a Business trip, and every summer she would rather jump out the airplane then step foot there once more. But this summer is different. Avery has to stay at a "close" family friends house, of whom she has only ever heard about, due to her parents getting into a bad car crash. But there's a few miner complications, they live in California USA and Avery lives in Ontario Canada.  while she lives with them Avery tries to keep ghosts of her past a secret while challenges come forward. She also must deal with home sickness, love Sickness, and mental sickness.
