His face was void of any emotion, like he have been exhausted for days, numbed and thirsty.

"What took you so long, Patricia?" he gradually stood up. Pumunta siya sa direksyon ko. Sa bawat hakbang niya ay ang pagtunog ng tanikala sa kanyang mga paa. The chains emitted creepy sounds as it approach me.
"Anong nangyari. . .Bakit-" naguguluhan kong tanong. Unti-unti akong lumapit sa kanya.
"I'm freezing." his voice is as cold as ice. "Can't you come near?" he asked.
I felt a weakness pulling me in as I walk towards him. I hold onto the rails. I know it's stupid of me to come nearer. But an uncertain force-like field brings me to the devil.
Nakaharap na kami sa isa't-isa. Bigla na lamang akong namanhid na tila di ko na nararamdaman ang lamig.
He lifted his hands and it reached my left cheek. Saglit akong napapikit.
Pakiramdam ko ay nanindig ang mga balahibo ko sa batok. All I can feel is his gentle touch as he caresses it.

The side of his lips arched. Something flickered on his eyes. I believe their color changed! Hindi ko lang nahuli.
I was still in awe when he held my hand tightly as he speaks,
"But maybe one bite. . . will suffice."
He wasn't even asking for permission. He was suggesting it to himself.
Because deeply, he knows, I'll never escape his grip.
