They were very close, because they were both considered monsters to everyone else. Later, after Samaru leaves the Sand Village, she finds the village hidden in the Leaves and meets a young boy named Sasuke Uchiha, along with his family. But then the Uchiha Clan gets killed off by Sasukes older brother, Itachi. That's when Sasuke yelled at Samaru, making her the mean, cold hearted girl that she is today.
