Jonathan Smith, the scarred boy from North Carolina. After him and his mother escape from his father's abusive clutches, they run away to Canada where he will not find them. Jon is enrolled in the local school as a senior.
Evan Fong, the resident bad boy. Everyone either worships the ground he walks on or loathes his guts. He's a softie at heart, but has 'friends' who are constantly peer pressuring him into being someone he's not.
Jonathan finds his online friend Vanoss at this school, and discovers that he's not all sunshine and rainbows.
Evan doesn't want to bully the new kid, he has an uncanny resemblance to an old friend of his...
