Six months on since Hiccup and the female Night Fury, Comet, defeated Drago Bludvist a second time, Berk is at peace once more. Toothless and Comet have four healthy hatchlings, Hiccup and Astrid are updating the Dracopedia with priceless information from the Hall of Tales, and the whole island is looking forward to a calm, snowy winter.
But then, a strange girl with the wings of a dragon appears, claiming to be Drago's lost daughter- Veraldai Bludvist! Even though she's younger than she should be, she soon proves herself an excellent dragon tamer after calming a raging Mimic Spitter, and she joins the ranks of Berk's riders.
All is not well with Veraldai, however, and her evil plans and secrets may tear Berk apart.... Can Hiccup, Astrid, Toothless and Comet uncover the reasons of the girl's malicious tricks, or will they fall prey to Veraldai's vicious master?
